Post-primary Review Conferences March 2011

30 March 2011

The Northern Ireland Commission for Catholic Education (NICCE)held a series of briefing conferences during March to update Catholic managed schools about the complex challenges and issues which face Catholic education at this time.

The main focus of these briefing conferences was to provide an update to all our schools on the current status of the Post-primary Strategic Review, and to clearly set out the processes being used by Trustees for the next stages of the Review.

We did this in the context of our shared vision for Catholic Education and at the same time seeking to reflect how we can move forward in full harmony with that vision. We revisited the difficult issues that existed in 2010 and identified emerging challenges that need to be addressed as we move to the next stages of the Review. The policy context as set out by the Department of Education, and the Commission’s responses to this context was also addressed.
