  • Consultation period for Post-primary Review extended

    The Northern Ireland Commission for Catholic Education has announced that the deadline for the receipt of responses to the Post Primary Review consultation has been extended by one month. The initial deadline for responses was 31st May but this has now been extended to the 30th June.

    All Ireland Primate Cardinal Séan Brady today urged all those charged with planning education to “move beyond the tired, narrow focus on academic selection and consider the full range of challenges facing post primary education in Northern Ireland.” Cardinal Brady was speaking at the launch of the Commission’s consultation on the future of Post Primary Education at St Catherine’s College, Armagh.
  • Statement by NICCE on Post-Primary Transfer - March 09

    The Northern Ireland Commission for Catholic Education (NICCE) today released its policy statement on Post-Primary transfer for Catholic Schools. The recommendations follow the work that has been undertaken by the Working Group, representing all Catholic Post-Primary schools, established by NICCE to provide advice on transfer. It is hoped that this statement will bring clarity to the issue of Post-Primary transfer and will help address the concerns held by parents, pupils and schools.
