This study sets out to explore curriculum development in five contrasting secondary schools in order to examine the leadership issues arising from radical change at Key Stage 3. In doing so, it offers readers contemplating curriculum change the opportunity to consider the leadership lessons from those who have already been on the journey. -

The focus upon learning styles, thinking skills, team work, research skills, and the ways in which we manage situations and relate to people are skills for life and we are delighted that our students have had full and detailed exposure to this before they move into Year 8.'David Carter, Principal, John Cabot City Technology College -
